This Sunday sees two sides that are in great form at the moment when Spurs take on Manchester United at White Hart Lane and the game kicks off at 1600 GMT.

This is a match that sees both sides in very consistent form Spurs have won seven of their last 10 matches and now sit in fourth place and will be looking to maintain this position until the end of the season.  Spurs record against the Premier League elite reads won two, drawn five and lost three.

When facing today’s opponents the head-to-head record reads Spurs no wins, three draws and Manchester United two wins. Indeed if we take this further apart from Spurs recent famous 3-2 away victory at Old Trafford they tend to be found wanting when playing the leagues better sides. This season they have had six defeats and four of these came against Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City and Everton.

Spurs can be backed at around 3.00 and in truth this does not offer any real value and if you do fancy Spurs to do well here then given their record at home to teams of Uniteds stature then you are certainly best keeping the draw on your side and Spurs can be backed on the Asian Handicap +0.25 goals at a fairly skinny looking 1.80

The draw can be backed at 3.45 and given both sides recent form against similar opposition looks to offer some value and indeed in my opinion represents Spurs best chance of getting something from this game.

Manchester United are in fantastic form at the moment and have won 14 of their last 16 matches. When playing sides of Spurs grading their record reads won five, drawn three and lost two with all five victories coming from their last six matches.

Manchester United can be backed at 2.50 and this looks to offer some good value. Given the recent head-to-heads I would certainly be tempted to keep the draw on my side and Manchester United can be backed on the Asian Handicap -0.25 goals 2.15 which means should the game end a draw, then you only lose half of your stake.

As far as goals are concerned then we should probably expect a few and since 2009/10 there have been three or more goals in 10 of Spurs last 14 home games to teams of Manchester Uniteds stature. In the case of Manchester United this season eight of their 11 away matches have seen three goals or more.  With the above in mind over 2.75 goals can be backed at 1.93 and this certainly looks to offer some value

In summary this is certainly one of the showcase games of the season and despite their current position I think Spurs can sometimes be found wanting when facing the better sides. Manchester United -0.25 goals looks to offer value but I also like the look of Over 2.75 goals and given the strong trend when Spurs face the league’s elite Over 2.75 goals looks a good option at 1.93.
